Gamy's Story: From Struggle to Service
Gamy didn't grow up with privilege. His grandfather was a Bracero, a Mexican farmworker brought to the US during the WWII war mobilization to help put food on the table for American families. His mother also picked crops in the fields. His family worked seven days a week at a swap meet, building a small business from nothing.
At seventeen, Gamy took a Greyhound bus for college with just two suitcases. But here's what happened:
College was more expensive than expected. He had to drop out.
He became homeless when housing costs skyrocketed.
He lost his job during the Great Recession.
He got entangled in the criminal justice system.
In 2015, he was working as a cook at Popeyes and other fast-food restaurants.
This wasn't bad luck. This was the result of a system that fails working families.
But Gamy didn't give up. He got organized. Over the last decade, he's been fighting for economic justice and economic freedom, working to elect progressive candidates, and leading the fight for election reform in Nevada. While doing all this, he earned his BA in Political Science and his Master's in Public Administration and Policy from UNR.
Gamy is a campaign manager, activist, and organizer who knows how to win because he's been doing it for ten years.
The Platform: Economically progressive. Not as in left or right or liberal or conservative. Its about moving us forward with Human Rights and Human Dignity and Human Freedom at the center!
Here's what makes Gamy different. His platform isn't about partisan politics. It's about human rights and human dignity, and human freedom—values that transcend party lines.

2. Universal Basic Income (Freedom Dividened): The Nevada Permanent Fund. The centerpiece of Gamy's platform is the Nevada Permanent Fund—a universal basic income paid monthly from going after Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, mining, and resource revenue. Billionaires that don’t pay their fair share!
3. This isn't a handout. This is your share of Nevada's natural wealth. Alaska has done this successfully since 1982, and it has bipartisan support there because everyone benefits.
4. This is about recognizing that Nevada's resources belong to all of us, not just the corporations that extract them.
5. Universal economic policies from cradle to grave. Gamy's platform recognizes that every person deserves dignity at every stage of life: baby bonds, universal childcare, and universal parental leave.
6.Housing as a human right – No family should sleep in their car. Rent shouldn't swallow your entire paycheck.
7.Healthcare guaranteed for all – No one should go bankrupt because they get sick. Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.
8.Universal free higher education – College shouldn't be a privilege for the wealthy few. Every young person deserves the opportunity to develop their potential.
9.Living wage $ 25 minimum wage – Reflecting the actual cost of living in Nevada, so people can support their families with dignity.
10.Election Reform: Open Primaries and Ranked-Choice Voting Gamy has been a lead activist for election reform because our political system is broken by extreme partisanship and gridlock.
