Our Journey Continues – Thank You for Standing Together

Dear Friends,

As I write to you tonight, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you. Thank you to each and every person who stood by me, who believed in this campaign, and who gave their time, energy, and passion to our cause. Running for office is never easy, but it is made possible—and deeply meaningful—because of people like you. While the outcome of this primary may not be what we hoped for, I stand before you undeterred and more hopeful than ever for the future we can build together.

Freedom is a constant struggle—it always has been, and it always will be. Angela Davis reminded us of this truth, and Nelson Mandela taught us that it always seems impossible until it’s done. These words have guided me throughout this campaign, and they will continue to guide us as we move forward. Our journey toward justice and equality is never easy, but it is always worth it. Every time we come together—every time we raise our voices for what is right—we move the needle a little further toward justice.

In a democracy like ours, politics is sometimes a form of war by another means. These days, the battleground is economic—the 1% against the 99%. I see it every day in Nevada’s Second Congressional District, where too often, the needs of working families are ignored while the wealthy and powerful have their say. We know this is not right. We know our communities deserve better. Enough is enough.

This campaign was never about one person or even one seat. It was about the people of this district—the workers, the families, the young people with dreams, the elders with wisdom. It was about building a movement that can’t be ignored or silenced. We have got to be the change we want to see in the world. We have got to fight for that change—regardless of what the results are tonight. This movement is bigger than one election, and our work does not end here.

Let me be clear: Whether I win or lose tonight, this seat becomes available every two years. I am tired, disappointed, angry, and yes, I am pissed off about how our district has been treated by the powerful for far too long. But I am not giving up. I will run again in two years, and that job begins tomorrow. Our struggle is not over. The fight for freedom, justice, and dignity for all Nevadans continues, and it will not end until we have secured a just future for every person in our community.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this journey, it’s that hope is not a passive thing—it is active. It lives in the actions we take, the risks we embrace, and the community we build together. We have shown that when people come together with a shared vision, we are powerful. We’ve knocked on doors, made calls, organized rallies, and spoken truth to power. We’ve told our stories, lifted each other up, and refused to be discouraged by setbacks. That is the spirit of this campaign, and it is the spirit that will carry us forward.

I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible volunteers, organizers, donors, and supporters who made this campaign possible. Your belief in our cause has been humbling and inspiring. You have given your time, your resources, and your hearts. I am endlessly grateful for your commitment and your courage. You are the backbone of this movement, and I am honored to stand with you.

Tonight, we may not be celebrating a win at the ballot box, but we are celebrating something even more powerful: the community we have built and the hope we have ignited. The work continues, and so do we. Together, we will keep pushing. Together, we will keep dreaming. And together, we will win the future that our families, our friends, and our neighbors deserve.

Thank you for believing, for fighting, and for refusing to give up. The road ahead will not be easy, but I know that with you by my side, anything is possible. Stay tuned, stay involved, and stay hopeful—the best is yet to come.

With gratitude and determination,

Gamy Enriquez. MPA
