A New Path for America—Nevada’s Role in the Next American Century
Dear Friends and Neighbors of Nevada’s Second District,
History teaches us that great nations rise and fall not just on the strength of their armies, but through the security and prosperity they provide for their people. As we stand at a crossroads in American history, it is vital that we understand where we came from, what is happening now, and the bold path forward that Nevada—and our nation—must embrace.
Nearly a century ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt forged a security arrangement around oil that created the foundation for American leadership across the globe. This arrangement, built on stability in the Middle East and the promise of American security, set the stage for what historians call “Pax Americana”—an era when the United States was not just the world’s strongest power, but also its chief peace broker and architect of international order.
Today, that order is unraveling before our eyes. The security pact that placed America at the center of global affairs is being steadily eroded. Donald Trump’s willingness to bend to the interests of Benjamin Netanyahu and the hardline Israeli right, as well as the disastrous march toward war with Iran, have made clear that the old order is dying a slow, public death. Instead of being the world’s peacemaker, we are watching Iran gain leverage in the region, while Pakistan, China, and others step into the diplomatic vacuum America once filled. The US empire, as we have known it, is ceasing to exist.
This is not a cause for despair. It is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build something better. The world is changing, and Nevada can lead our country—and the world—into a new era of prosperity, security, and justice. It’s time for what I call a Green Marshall Plan: a bold investment in our people, our environment, and our future.
The original Marshall Plan rebuilt war-torn Europe and set the foundation for the European Union. It was visionary, practical, and transformative. A Green Marshall Plan would do the same for America and the world today. By investing in renewable energy, ending our addiction to fossil fuels, and addressing the climate crisis head-on, we can create millions of jobs, strengthen our economy, and restore American leadership on the world stage.
The benefits are clear and far-reaching:
Ending Perpetual War: As long as our security and economy are tied to oil, we will remain entangled in endless conflict. A Green Marshall Plan breaks this cycle.
Preserving Our Environment: We can finally act on climate change, protecting Nevada’s natural beauty and the planet for future generations.
Creating Millions of Jobs: Clean energy means new industries, new careers, and new hope for workers across Nevada and the nation.
Addressing Ecological Refugees: Climate change is pushing people from their homes. We can lead with compassion and foresight, building a more stable world.
Lowering Costs for Nevada Families: Renewable energy will save Nevadans thousands of dollars on gas, electricity, and transportation.
But we must also recognize the obstacles in our path. Benjamin Netanyahu and his government have a vested interest in perpetual war and expanding territory—a vision of Greater Israel that sabotages any genuine path to peace. As long as America continues to supply weapons and unconditional support, there will be no incentive for a two-state solution or lasting peace. The time has come to withhold arms, apply real pressure, and make it clear: pursue peace, or Israel will stand alone.
This war, and our continued entanglement in the old order, has a direct impact on the lives of Nevadans. Every dollar spent on war is a dollar not spent on schools, healthcare, or clean energy. The instability in the Middle East drives up the cost of gas, fuel, and housing here at home. It’s time to invest in ourselves.
That’s why I am running for Congress on a platform that is as bold as it is necessary: a Green Marshall Plan to fund Universal Basic Income—$1,300 a month for every Nevadan, every American. This is not about me. It’s about you, your family, and the future we build together.
Our campaign is the only one offering a concrete, achievable vision for ending perpetual war, saving our environment, and ensuring economic security for all. Nevada can lead the way. Let’s seize this moment and create a new American century—one built on peace, justice, and prosperity for every Nevadan.
This is a moment for hope and determination. Early voting is happening now—May 23rd through June 5th—and the primary is June 9th. If you want real change, if you are tired of the status quo and the same policies that keep the cost of everything high while your wages and salaries stay the same, then you must fight for the change you want to see. I would be honored to earn your vote. Move forward, share this message, and get involved—this is not about me, this is about all of us.
In solidarity,
